Efficient Pelletizing Equipment for Various Industries
The disc pelletizer, also known as a balling disc pelletizer, pan granulator, or pan pelletizer, is essential equipment widely used in chemical plants, limestone and gypsum processing, fertilizer production, cement manufacturing, and fly ash treatment. This machine is ideal for pelletizing powdery materials, transforming fine powders into uniform pellets, which is crucial for efficient handling and further processing.
Working Principle of the Disc Pelletizer
The disc pelletizer operates by rotating its circular pan around a central axis. As the disk spins, material on the surface rolls along, with fine particles adhering to existing green pellets, causing them to grow progressively to the desired size. This rolling action creates a dynamic environment where larger and smaller pellets follow distinct paths, promoting uniform pellet size and shape. The continuous rotation and controlled moisture create pellets with good cohesiveness and strength.
Key Features of the Disc Pelletizer
The disc pelletizer features a circular pan design with an impressive pelletizing rate of up to 93 percent. It includes three discharge ports, reducing labor intensity and enhancing operational efficiency. The motor and reducer connect via a soft belt, minimizing impact forces and extending the machine’s service life. The pan’s base is constructed from multi-layer steel plates, ensuring durability, resistance to deformation, and stable operation without the need for anchor bolts.
Advantages of Our Disc Pelletizer
Our disc pelletizer is equipped with an electric rotating scraper that efficiently clears the pelletizing surface, ensuring adaptability to various raw materials. The inclination angle and rotation speed are adjustable, allowing easy optimization for different production needs. The machine’s simple counter-flow structure is easy to install and maintain.
The pelletizer boasts strong production capacity, high efficiency, and large output. Its technical capabilities are among the best in China. We also offer customization services to meet different specifications and model requirements based on user needs. This equipment is highly adaptable to various raw materials, including magnetite and hematite concentrates. The pellets produced have superior iron content, excellent metallurgical properties, and are suitable for long-term storage and transportation over long distances.
Working Process of the Disc Ball Machine
Raw meal powder is first agglomerated into ball cores with uniform particle size. These cores are then fed into the disc where continuous pressure and moisture evaporation cause them to grow gradually. The cohesive and plastic nature of the materials enables pellets to bond and strengthen as they roll. Controlled parameters such as disc inclination, edge height, rotational speed, and moisture content influence pellet size and separation. Different-sized pellets detach and roll off the disc edge at varying angles due to gravity and the disc’s rotation, exiting the pan smoothly for further processing.
Specifications of Disc Pelletizers
Disc pelletizers are mainly classified into rotary bearing type and gear type based on their structure. Common market models include φ6000 pelletizers for industrial-scale production, while smaller units range from φ3500 to φ5500, and larger machines extend to φ7000 or φ7500. Production capacity can be adjusted by varying the number of pelletizing discs integrated into the production line, accommodating different output requirements.
