A Cyclone Preheater, also known as a suspension preheater, is a vital component in modern cement production, especially within the new dry process cement lines. It serves as the primary gas-solid reaction unit in the cement raw meal pre-decomposition system. By utilizing high-temperature exhaust gases from the kiln and combustion heat from the decomposition furnace, cyclone preheaters efficiently heat raw materials in suspension. This allows for optimal heat transfer, significantly boosting the thermal efficiency and clinker production of the calcining system.

How Does a Cyclone Preheater Operate?
Our cyclone preheating system includes several key components: a feeding system, preheater, pushing device, hydraulic system, precalciner, and frame. Cyclone preheaters are generally categorized into stages, ranging from 2 to 6. Higher stages improve efficiency, though they increase the pressure drop that the kiln fan must manage.
The Process:
Initial Stage:
Raw meal powder enters the riser duct through a side feeding port.
It disperses and suspends in the hot air from the duct’s bottom, achieving immediate and rapid heat exchange.
Cyclone Motion:
Airflow carries the material into the cyclone in a tangential, rotational movement.
Cooled gas moves to the next stage, while raw meal progresses through the lower valve to another stage.
This setup ensures that 80% of the heat exchange occurs in the riser duct, with just 20% in the cyclone.
Final Stage:
After multiple heat exchanges, the raw meal undergoes partial decomposition of calcium carbonate.
It is then ready for calcination in the precalciner and cement kiln.
