Cement Silo

Essential Storage for Bulk MaterialsA Cement Silo is a closed storage system for bulk materials like clinker, finished cement, limestone, bauxite, iron ore, gypsum, fly ash, raw coal, and other additives. Equipped with a material level system, these silos help monitor the location and amount of stored material, while a hole breaking device ensures smooth flow by removing blockages caused by prolonged deposition. When paired with a screw pump, cement silos can efficiently transfer materials across various positions, making them ideal for mixing stations.

How Does a Cement Silo Work?
To operate, a cement silo must be erected by a special crane on a prefabricated concrete foundation. After ensuring perpendicularity, it is welded securely to the foundation. Cement is then transported to the silo. During this process, operators must press the vibration motor button to prevent dust collector bags from clogging, avoiding potential explosion hazards.

The pressure safety valve at the top can release excess pressure if necessary. Material levels are monitored to indicate fullness. For discharge, the manual valve at the bottom of the cone is opened, and cement is conveyed. If “arching” occurs, the solenoid valve of the arch breaking device is used to maintain smooth flow. In case of device failure, the discharge valve should be closed immediately to prevent overflow and waste.
